Christian, Atelier Boisdelene, France
Boisdelene is a contemporary woodworking studio based in Douai, France. I design and craft furniture pieces that are simple, durable, and rooted in traditional handwork. Each creation combines solid wood with natural materials such as Danish cord, with careful attention to responsible sourcing and respect for the materials. Boisdelene reflects my desire to create objects that stand the test of time, blending clean design, craftsmanship, and environmental commitment.
Why do you use Danish cord?
I use Danish cord because it perfectly reflects the balance I look for in my work: a natural, honest material that feels visually light yet extremely strong. Its weaving brings a warm, graphic presence that pairs beautifully with the oak I use in my pieces. The FSC Mix certification is a key factor in my choice. It ensures responsible resource management and serious traceability, which aligns with my approach as a craftsman.

How do you use Danish Cord?
I create objects like chairs, stools and benches that are meant to last, using materials with a controlled and trusted origin. Danish cord allows me to combine aesthetics, comfort, and environmental responsibility. It is a material that carries meaning: a gesture, a tradition, an ethic. It naturally finds its place in my projects, whether in the Trame collection or more experimental pieces, and contributes to the sober, durable identity I want to express through my workshop.

The FSC Mix certification is a key factor in my choice. It ensures responsible resource management and serious traceability, which aligns with my approach as a craftsman.
